contact sheet is a photographic gallery and teaching space, which supports emerging and established photographers by providing opportunities for them to develop their artistic practices and engage with new audiences. We offer a range of photography courses and mentorship programs. We provide a creative teaching space in which students are taught photography and view works. Our site includes a dedicated gallery and online store which showcases photographic works of Australian and international artists ('The Print Shop'), as well as space for new exhibitions that are open for public viewing. We provide a space in which people can view and buy photography at a range of price points.
We opened our doors in 2014. In our first year we presented 12 exhibitions with 61 artists, 10 free public programs attracting an audience of over 3,600 visitors who came through our doors, many of whom supported our artists by purchasing works for their homes or offices.
Our objective is to support living artists by providing an opportunity to engage with new audiences and for people to view and collect their work.
We draw from a pool of world-class curators to present photographic exhibitions by emerging and established artists.
