This course will teach students to develop their own unique visual language and photographic identity within the realm of Photojournalism and Documentary Photography.
Embracing both modern digital technologies as well as traditional techniques this practical course will enable students to define their own voice and build their narration skills through practical guidance, mentoring and critical evaluation. The course will further develop students conceptual and practical skills through one to one feedback, group discussions and mentoring. Students will be encouraged to refine their storytelling skills through the use of multimedia, still and moving imagery.
At the conclusion of the course students will have produced a cohesive body of work in their own unique photojournalistic or documentary style. Depending on the experience of individuals students will be encouraged and guided to create either a new body of work or to elaborate and finalise an existing body of work. Students will be guided on how to approach magazines, Galleries and Photo Editors with their bodies of work.
